Review: Korres Wild Rose 24- hour Moisturizing and Brightening Cream

(Repeat post from my eco-blog)

After I ran out of my Nivea moisturizer, I decided to go to Sephora to find a new, better moisturizer. After telling the saleslady that I had dry skin, she recommended a few different things but I liked the feeling of this the best. Korres is also known to use natural products and is animal friendly, meaning they do not use animal testing. This led me to purchase this product. This product is not tested on animals nor does it contain any animal byproduct, making it vegan.

Their packaging is also recyclable, this particular container is made of glass and the lid is plastic. According to the website, all packaging is recyclable (where facilities exist)

The difference this moisturizer has made is apparent. Skin is smoother and softer afterwards although I can't speak for its "brightening" qualities, I can say it does what a moisturizer is supposed to do.

This is what the product looks like after a little rubbing.

After more rubbing....The product is absorbed fairly quickly. It does not feel oily. It also does not feel like it "sits" on top of the skin.

Onto the Review - This moisturizer is recommended more toward normal to dry skin. It is immediately noticeable why. While it is not oily, it is thicker than a lot of other moisturizers. I like the consistency of this. The scent is of a mild rose scent. It is very pleasant to me, however, if you strongly dislike the scent of rose, I would not recommend this product. I've been using it for around 2 or 3 months and have not had any adverse reaction to it. I really like it and will likely be repurchasing. I have also recommended it to friends who have also purchased and enjoy this product.

This can be purchased at sephora for around $35 US. It should last around 3 months depending if you use it as a day cream, or a day and night cream. Please do not hesitate to comment is you have any questions and have a great day!

Origins: A perfect World Facial Cleanser Review

Origins "A Perfect World" Cleanser Review (A double post from my eco blog too!)

So, after I ran out of my previous cleanser from the drugstore, it was a clean and clear one I believe, I decided to try something new. I wanted to try something that would be better for my skin, but also the environment. Origins is known as an earth and nature friendly company so I decided to try it. I went to the Origins store and asked for a recommendation for a facial cleanser that is good for dry and combination skin. The lady recommended this one and I decided to try it.

It is great! It foams up nicely and does not dry or "tighten" up my skin at all. This product is supposed to help balance your skin and I truly believes that it does. I have never had a cleanser where I truly can feel the difference and this is the first cleanser I have ever used that has not made my skin feel "tight."I have been using this product for probably a little over a month and I still feel like I have hardly made a dent in it. It is priced around $20 US but will last you at least 3 months.

The scent is very mild and pleasant. If you have used an Origins product before, I feel most of the Origins  products have a similar smell. It mades a face feel clean, but not tight, not oily, and not dry.

This is what the product looks like.

After a little bit of warm water

Lathers up and foams really nicely.

Overall, I highly recommend this product. It is gentle and cleans makeup off really nicely. It is formulated without parabens, pthalates, etc. Origins is also known to use earth friendly practices and renewable energy. Please feel free to comment if there are any questions and have a great day! :)

New Favorite!

Hey guys!

So...this is not going to be a makeup post today. I would like to RAVE about my newfound best friend/drink. i recently got a keurig, exchanged it for a tassimo. If you guys do not know what a keurig or tassimo are, they are single serve coffee makers, keurig seems to be the more popular one. I however, prefer the tassimo. the most awesome - est drink i absolutely LOVE are MOCHAS. Strabucks is AMAZING...but...can get pricey. the peppermint mocha from gevalia for the tassimo machine is AMAZING and i will NEVER get a peppermint mocha from starbucks again..as long as i have my stash because its limited edition >.< so yea....thats my rave.

Feel free to ask any questions about either machines :)

Hugs!

Waxing at HOME! All you need to know abut wax and tips on how to save money.

Hey everyone! so when I was searching around for reviews on heating pots, wax, etc. it was pretty hard to find information. i was trying to decide between the GiGi and the Satin Smooth waxing pot. i finally decided on the GiGi because it ha good reviews, was easier to get my hands on, and slightly cheaper. ive used it a couple of times now and its been good. so above, you can see the picture of the box with the heater on it. Hopefully, my mom can get me the camera from home so I can do a video review/info/tutorial on how to wax at home.

So now to talk about the WAX. There are 2 different types of wax. "Hard" and "Soft" wax. "Soft wax is also known as strip wax because you need cloth or muslin strips to pull the wax off. Soft wax also attaches to your skin so you have to apply oil and/or baby powder to provide a barrier between your skin and your wax. you may still accidentally pull your skin of if you are inexperienced and/or make a mistake. This could hurt but should not do any major damage. Soft wax is best used for legs/arms although many salons also use this for lip/eyebrows. However, i feel like this would get really messy fast as soft was is "smoother" and therefor can drip. Also, i would rather not peel off my own skin.
THEREFOR:

I use hard wax:

Sorry, the image is sideways.

I chose the Satin Smooth wax because it had good reviews on amazon.
I have used it for my eyebrows, lips, and underarms. it is AWESOME. it doesnt hurt too bad, especially if you have gone waxing before. With Hard Wax, you layer it on it a thick layer, wait for it to dry, and then rip it off. NO strips needed. Also, because it is thicker, i feel it is easier to work with. Hard wax is good for "thicker and courser" hair, however, i feel it worked fine with my lips and eyebrows. Hard wax also DOES NOT stick to the skin, just the hair, so you cannot "rip" your skin off. Hard wax is usually used for more sensitive areas such as the bikini area, however, i felt it worked fine for my face and under arms too.

OTHER THINGS YOU WILL NEED.

Besides the wax and the heating pot (which is important if you want to wax), you will also need the following:
Cotton pads (like the stuff you use to remove makeup/nail polish/etc)
Pre-waxing and post-waxing oils and stuff.
HOWEVER
here is where you can save monies. instead of shelling out the $$$ for this, i just went to my local drugstore/grocery store and got

Baby Oil
For after you wax to get rid of that access that just seems to stick to EVERYTHING and also if you get it somewhere you dont want it to be: this is VERY useful. You can also use olive oil.

Aloe
For after you wax o the red areas, this really helps cool off the waxed area so it isnt so irritated.

Toner

You may also use rubbing alcohol or some sort of disinfectant to clean the area before waxing. whatever toner you use now also works.

Craft/Popsicle sticks
to apply the wax with, you may double dip if the wax is only for you, but for hygiene purposes, i do not recommend this.

I also waxed my underarms for the first time ever: all i can say is i am NEVER going back to shaving.

So that is all for now! sorry for the EXTREMELY long post. i hope this helps someone and look out for the next post/video! The total cost of everything was probably around $50 ish. about the price of getting your lip/eyebrows waxed 2-3 times.

Disclaimer: all products were purchased by me and all opinions are 100% my own. I am not being paid to do this.

Hair Removal: Im Never Shaving Again!

Hey everyone! so I know what every girls has to do, every day in the shower: SHAVE. Its a pain and the hair just grows back by the end of the day. Not only that, it leaves stubble and a dark shadow on your underarms. On your legs, you just end up shaving all over again. So....what does one do? well,
1. keep shaving.
2. wax, but this gets expensive,
OR.
3. Wax AT HOME!

If you cannot already tell, the 3rd one is my choice for hair removal. I bought a Was warmer and sally's beauty supply although you can also get it online. Mine is by GiGi and it wasnt too expensive, around $25 i think. i got hard wax by satin smooth, which does no require the muslin strips. I shall be posting pictures and more information soon!

Some benefits of Waxing at home as opposed to shaving.
1. You dont have to worry about it for another 2-4 weeks.
2. no dark shadow under your arms.
3. It is not super expensive like going to the salon would be.
4. It is not hard to learn.
5. This is going to sound dork, but for me, it was fun to learn :)

IM BACK!
